the haves and the have nots

graphic images warning: WARNING! The post you are about to read contains graphic images of a cluttered house, still only about 12% unpacked. Not for the faint of heart.
----------

Normally the haves are a good thing, right? No. Not in this case.

Because this case involves...

Vertical blinds.

VOM.

Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with me but vertical blinds make something deep in my bones cringe, throw up and sob simultaneously. I really wish I was exaggerating.

In the kitchen and in the bedroom.

Because nothing says "bow chicka wow wow" like some cheap apartment blinds.

(bonus points for noticing the vertical blind on the floor. go team gabriel and bonesy! they'll get those blinds one by one if they have to!)

And the have nots...

Not a single closet door in the whole joint.

They are in the garage....somewhere. Dirty and needing paint.

And at dinnertime when we finally sitting for the first time all day, I couldn't take it anymore. Our conversation went something like this:
me: justin get your zoop zoop thing.
justin: huh?
me: please take down those blinds. they are hurting me. hang the bamboo shades. please.
justin:

While an audience looked on.

Peace out nasty blinds.

But guess what? The bamboo shades don't work. No shades work. Because 84 inches is not a horizontal blind or shade length. Nope. It's a vertical blind length.

No. No. No.

And instead of doing homework last night I scoured the internet for something other than vertical blinds or curtains to hang over the sliding glass doors. I found exactly 2 options. Both well over a hundred bucks a pop. NO!

Curtains will make do for now while we solve this crisis. And yes, it is a crisis JUSTIN.

I'm with you hon...vertical blinds SUCK! We had some in our front bedroom when we first moved in and those were one of the first things to go!

I'm sorry you aren't finding any affordable options...there has got to be something that will work.

And don't feel bad about the clutter...ummm we've been in our house almost 5 years and still haven't completely unpacked...apparently we have a lot of stuff we don't need..hmm.

Dear Justin-

This is absolutely a crisis. This should be fixed immediately.

Sincerely,
Jenn

Vertical blinds scare the living crap out of me. I don't know how you've put up with it this long. ::shivers:: I hope you're able to find something affordable very soon.
